Kitsu needs more security options for people, we need Security Questions & Two Factor Authentication. 
This will protect accounts from being compromised. 
Google Authenticate is a poplar one so is Authy. 
You could use the Kitsu mobile app as a authentication app as well like Steam.

No commits or PR so far.

2FA is a brilliant idea. It really helps with security of the website and the people on it.
I can also imagine it would shift a little workload of staff, in cases where there is doubt the person claiming a account actually owns it. 
As for security questions. These are a bit of a grey area in my opinion. People often still hint to what their actual cat was called, instead of creating a crazy name, and inputting the answer in a password manager like: Bitwarden.

tennoseremel: yeh, when they implement it. It's 99.9% chance that they'll make it optional. Don't know of any websites that enforce it
