Don't allow reactions for something that hasn't been released yet
Mantum
a lot of people react before the anime even releases, to get their reaction to be at the top. While genuine reactions that are posted after release, are stuck at the bottom. it sucks
adelgirl
along the same line, they should disable voting for non-released anime, whether it's a new season or otherwise.
instead, there should be a new button/s or rating that people can click to show their interest in watching an unreleased anime when it airs.
maybe 3 buttons, kind of like the events in facebook-
want to watch
might watch
don't want to watch

This season has not been released yet we already have reactions. Hell the date of release is not posted the comments belong in the community chat not reactions

I dislike rating system in general, because what's popular isn't equal to it being good, but this is a no brainer to me. It's just stupid that rating something, that hasn't even aired exists. I just think, that It might be a hard thing to do and Kitsu team are probably busy with a lot of stuff, so I do understand.
Energetic_Nova
I guess this is too difficult for Kitsu to do or they just don't want to.

So many top reactions are just first episode hype. They become meaningless once the season is over. People are looking at all the anime pages more frequently early in the season, so the reaction gets extra upvotes and ends up sticking around forever.

Don't let people write reactions to anime that hasn't ended

I'm sick of these people only watching one episode of a new show and then writing some woefully uninformed reaction to it.
I think something should finish airing before people can leave their reactions. They should probably also have to have it marked as "completed" in their library.
Of course this would be a problem for long running shows so I guess a good work around is that if it has run for 24 episodes and is still going then you can leave a reaction.
Also I think you should have people's rating for the show be displayed next to their reaction. Often times a reaction is a joke or reference to the show and doesn't tell you much. Naturally if you do this then it should reflect the rating system that person is using. Like if the person is rating with the smiley faces then even if someone is using the star system they should see the smiley faces to prevent confusion.
Energetic_Nova
You would think they would do something about this. Seems pretty important.
I would also want reactions to wait until a certain amount of the show is out... not just allow ep 1 reactions to a 12 episode series.

145 upvotes and a year later still not a thing @.@
