MAL update fails

On the export page it suddenly says "Your MAL Export has been disabled due to the following reason: Login failed".
It has worked all the time, until today. I watched the first episode of Junji Itou Collection today and it failed to update it on MAL. This feature is the only reason I'm using Kitsu.
Nothing about my MAL login changed.

MAL added a captcha to their login module so logging into the sync is currently broken. The devs need to rework the sync to use the mal api.
In the meantime you can download an xml of your lists, from the settings on the website, and manually import that to mal.

Zwysmwqbrzknw: It's steadily being worked on. The devs only work on Kitsu during their free time and reworking the sync is a somewhat major task. Iirc the mal api is also not as user friendly as advertised which adds an extra layer of complexity.

I don't even see a MAL option in my export area of Kitsu anymore. It used to just tell me it failed 90% of the time, but was there at least. Now I only have options to export xml versions of my anime/manga library. Is this temporary as the work done to fix the MAL sync or did we just give up and remove it?

Stacycmc: It's been temporarily removed because it fails 100% of the time now, since MAL added a captcha to their login. We're working to bring it back using the new MAL API, but we have to start from scratch and it's going to take a little while I'm afraid. For now you can download the XML versions and import them into MAL. Obviously, this kinda sucks, but it's all I can offer until we finish the New MAL Export™

Wroargh: The download works. Just very affected by the current server status and prone to timing out when it's slow.
Give it time to finish and don't leave the tab or do anything else while it's in progress.
Should work eventually if you keep on trying.
